The SEC had 10 schools finish in the top 50 of the annual Sears Directors' Cup rankings, which recognizes the top athletics programs each year.





But this site is mostly about football... The SEC sent an NCAA-record eight teams to postseason bowls each of the last two years. The SEC also ended the 1999 season with another NCAA-leading statistic, 7 ranked teams in the final poll (sorry Big-10).
